| DF075 PRESENT | CIRCUIT 1 PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG SC: Short circuit |
INSTRUCTIONS
If 1.DEF, check and modify the control unit configuration.
Special note: never measure the firing lines with a device other than CLIP or XRBAG.
Use the 22-pin adapter (Elé. 1685) to access the control unit connector.
OC - SC
INSTRUCTIONS
Nothing to report.
| Lock the ECU using the diagnostic tool command. Switch off the ignition and check that the passenger front airbag is correctly connected (access to the connectors via the glovebox). |
| Disconnect the BLUE connector from the passenger front airbag and connect an inert igniter to the igniter connector. Switch on the ignition and carry out a check with the diagnostic tool. Replace the airbag if the fault has become stored (the fault is no longer reported as present). |
| If the value is incorrect: Disconnect the control unit and check the wiring at the connector (pins 2 and 13). Connect the 22-pin adapter (Elé. 1685). The CLIP or XRBAG tool must be used to measure resistance on wire B of the adapter. If the value obtained is not correct, there is a wiring fault between the control unit and the passenger airbag connectors (C0/C4). Replace the wiring if necessary. If the value obtained is correct, check the control unit wiring again. |
AFTER REPAIR
Reconnect the control unit, then switch on the ignition.
Clear the ECU memory then switch off the ignition.
Repeat the check with the diagnostic tool and, if no fault is present, unlock the control unit. If the airbag module has been replaced, do not forget to reconnect the earth on the new module.
Destroy the passenger front airbag if it has been replaced (tool Elé. 1287).

INSTRUCTIONS
Nothing to report.
Lock the ECU using the diagnostic tool command.Disconnect the control unit and check the wiring at the connector (pins 2 and 13).
Connect the 22-pin adapter (Elé. 1685).
The CLIP or XRBAG tool must be used to perform the insulation measurement appropriate to the fault type on wire B of the adapter.
If the value obtained is not correct, there is a wiring fault between the control unit and the passenger airbag connectors (C0/C4).
Replace the wiring if necessary.
| DF077 PRESENT | DRIVER FRONT SIDE AIRBAG CIRCUIT SC: Short circuit |
INSTRUCTIONS
If 1.DEF, check and modify the control unit configuration.
Diagnosis priorities when several faults are present: If DF077 is present with at least one of the faults DF065, DF210, DF232, DF240, start diagnosis by checking the 22-way connector under the seat.
Special note: never measure the firing lines with a device other than CLIP or XRBAG.
Use the 64-way adapter (Elé. 1686) to work at the control unit connector and the 22-way adapter (Elé. 1687) to work at the seat
OC - SC
INSTRUCTIONS
Special features: correct the firing line configuration if the vehicle is not fitted with a driver front side airbag.
| Lock the control unit, disconnect the control unit connector and fit the 64-way adapter (Elé. 1686). The CLIP or XRBAG tool must be used to measure resistance on the wire marked H of the adapter. If the value obtained is correct, check the wiring at the 64-way connector (pins 15 and 16). |
| Check the wiring at the 22-way connector under the seat. Repair if necessary. Fit the 22-way test adapter (Elé. 1687) at the seat (point C1). Be sure to use the CLIP or XRBAG tool to carry out the resistance measurement on cable A. Is the value obtained correct? |
| NO | Check the wiring at the seat connector (pins 11 and 12). Remove the driver's seat trim and check that the side airbag module igniter is correctly connected. |
Disconnect the side airbag module igniter, connect an inert igniter to the igniter connector and repeat the resistance measurement on wire A.
|
|
| YES | Check the wiring again at the seat connector (pins 11 and 12) and at the 64-way connector (pins 15 and 16). |
| If the fault persists, wiring fault between the control unit and the driver seat (C0/C1). Replace the wiring if necessary. |
AFTER REPAIR
Reconnect the control unit and the driver front side airbag module igniter, then switch the ignition on. Clear the control unit memory, then switch the ignition off.
Repeat the check with the diagnostic tool and, if no fault is present, unlock the control unit. If the airbag module has been replaced, do not forget to reconnect the earth on the new module.
Scrap the thorax side airbag module if it has been replaced (tool Elé. 1287).
