Driving tips

High-speed driving

~1min read

When driving at high speed, pay attention to the following factors:

  • Braking distance increases with vehicle speed. Apply the brakes far enough before the stopping point, leaving room for the braking distance.
  • On rainy days, "hydroplaning" may occur, a condition in which the tires lose direct contact with the road surface due to a wedge of water forming between them. Steering or braking is very difficult during "hydroplaning" and loss of vehicle control may occur. Reduce your speed when the road surface is wet.
  • At high speeds, the vehicle may be affected by crosswind. Therefore, reduce your speed and be prepared for unexpected swaying, which may occur when leaving a tunnel, passing a mountain pass, or being overtaken by large vehicles, etc.
