Opening and closing procedures

The power windows can be operated using the switches.

Using the switch, the windows move as follows:

■ The power windows can be operated when

Vehicles without smart entry & start system The key in the ignition switch is in the "ON" position.

Vehicles with smart entry & start system The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.

WARNING

Observe the following precautions.

Failure to observe this may result in serious or fatal injury.

■ Closing the windows

  • The driver controls the operation of all power windows, including those of the passengers. Prevent accidental operation of the power windows, especially when children are on board. Children and other passengers could get a body part caught in a power window.
  • Make sure that all passengers do not position themselves so that any part of the body could become caught while a window is in use.
  • To exit the vehicle, turn the engine switch to "LOCK" (vehicles without smart entry & start system) or to OFF (vehicles with smart entry & start system), take the key with you and get out together with the child. The system may operate unintentionally due to damage, etc., which could in turn cause an accident.
