REPLACEMENT

HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. PRECAUTION
  2. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
CAUTION: After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.
  1. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB−ASSY (MANUAL TRANSAXLE)
  2. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER REAR
  3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
  4. REMOVE RR CONSOLE BOX
  5. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB−ASSY
  6. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX FRONT
  7. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR No.1
  8. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR No.2
  9. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX DUCT No.1 (A/T TRANSAXLE)
  10. REMOVE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER

  11. Disconnect the holder (with connectors) from the airbag sensor assy center.

  12. Remove the 3 bolts and the airbag sensor assy center.

  1. INSPECT AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER
  2. INSTALL AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER

  3. Check that the ignition switch is off.

  4. Check that the battery negative (−) terminal is disconnected.

CAUTION: After removing the terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.

c. Temporarily install the airbag sensor assy center with the 3 bolts.

NOTICE:
  • If the airbag sensor assy center has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the airbag sensor assy center with a new one.
  • When installing the airbag sensor assy center, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
  1. Tighten the 3 bolts to the specified torque. Torque: 17,5 N·m

  2. Connect the holder (with connectors) to the airbag sensor assy center.

  3. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the airbag sensor assy center.

  4. Check that the water−proof sheet is properly set.

  5. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
  6. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
