  1. Check transponder key amplifier

  1. Disconnect the e5 amplifier connector.
  2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness.

  1. Reconnect the e5 amplifier connector.
  2. Measure the resistance and voltage of the connector.

  1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform 1.

  2. Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector.

If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction on the wire harness side.

  1. Reconnect the e46 ecu connector.
  2. Measure the resistance and voltage of the connector.
