Switching the compass on and off

The compass points are shown in the interior rear-view mirror.

• To switch the compass on or off, press button (A) until the red display appears or goes out.

The digital compass only works when the ignition is switched on. The compass points are shown in abbreviated form: N (North), NE (North-East), E (East), SE (South-East), S (South), SW (South-West), W (West), NW (North-West).

Note

Do not hold remote controls or other electrical systems near the rear-view mirror, as this may cause the compass to display incorrect readings.

Setting the magnetic field zone

The correct magnetic field zone must be set so that the compass points are displayed correctly.

• Press button (Â) => fig. 87 until the number of the desired magnetic field zone appears in the interior rear-view mirror.
• Set the magnetic field by pressing button (Â) several times. After a few seconds, the setting mode switches off automatically.

Calibrating the compass

The compass must be recalibrated if it is no longer accurate or if it shows an incorrect direction.

• Press and hold the (Â) button until the letter C appears in the rear-view mirror.
• Drive in a circle at a speed of approximately 10 km/h until a compass point appears in the rear-view mirror.

CAUTION!

Calibrate the compass in a location free of traffic to protect yourself and other road users - risk of accident!
