Rear Window Defroster

The defroster system clears moisture from the rear window.

• Press button (W) to switch the rear window defroster on or off => fig. 76.

The rear window defroster only works when the ignition is switched on. When the rear window defroster is switched on, an indicator light in the control lights up.

At outside temperatures above 0 °C, the defroster switches off automatically after approximately 10 minutes.

While the rear window defroster is switched on, the mirror glass of the exterior mirrors is heated* depending on the outside temperature.

Environment

As soon as the rear window is clear, switch off the defroster. Lower current consumption has a positive effect on fuel consumption.

Sun visor

Using the sun visors can improve road safety.

You can swing the driver's and front passenger's sun visors (1) out of their centre mounts and fold them down against the doors => fig. 77.

The vanity mirror of the sun visor is fitted with a cover. When you slide the cover (2) open, the vanity mirror light* in the headliner switches on automatically.

It switches off when you close the cover and swing the sun visor up.

Applies to vehicles: with sunblind (rear doors), with sunblind (rear window)

Sunblind

The rear door windows and the rear window are equipped with a sunblind.

Pull the sunblind out and hook it onto the hooks at the top of the door frame or on the roof headliner.
