Specifications
* Certain specifications are also given in the text of the Section and, where compliance is mandatory, are highlighted in bold.
Fuel
Gasoline Engines
Unleaded gasoline of at least AI-95 grade (engines with catalytic converter).
Unleaded or leaded gasoline of at least AI-95 grade (engines without catalytic converter).
Gasoline of at least AI-91 grade may be used; however, engine power will decrease and fuel consumption will increase.
Diesel Engines
Automotive (not marine or boiler) summer or winter diesel fuel with sulfur content not exceeding 0.5%. Do not use biodiesel or rapeseed oil methyl ester.
Fuel filter preheating prevents fuel from thickening while the vehicle is in operation.
Do not use special additives to reduce fuel viscosity.
When the outside air temperature drops below -9°C, add kerosene to summer diesel fuel (in % of total volume).

When outside air temperature drops below -20°C, add a viscosity reducing agent or kerosene to winter diesel fuel (in % of total volume).

As an exception, up to 30% of low-octane gasoline (unleaded for vehicles with catalytic converter) may be added to diesel fuel.

Adjustment Data

Idle Speed
Before checking, raise engine speed (engine oil temperature approx. 60°C for gasoline engines, 70°C for diesel engines).
Values in brackets apply to vehicles with automatic transmission (AT).

Threaded Connection Tightening Torques
Fastener tightening torques are given in the text of this Chapter and in some illustrations*.
*Torques printed in bold in the text must be followed precisely; torques not printed in bold are approximate values only.
