Clutch Slave Cylinder Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

1. Only if the hydraulic line was disconnected: Suck the brake fluid out of the reservoir before connecting the line.

* Brake fluid is poisonous. Do not siphon it by mouth through the hose.

2. Raise the vehicle and support it on stands. Disconnect the engine undercover. Refer to the Engine Undercover Removal and Installation section.
3. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the slave cylinder from the manual transmission.

4. Disconnect the hydraulic line.

* If the slave cylinder is not being replaced with a new one, do not disconnect the hydraulic line.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean the slave cylinder pushrod and lightly lubricate it with Molykote Longtherm 2 grease.

2. Install the cylinder on the transmission and tighten it to 25 N·m.
3. Secure the hydraulic line to the slave cylinder to 15 N·m. Fill the system with fluid. Bleed air from the system.
4. Install and secure the engine undercover.
