Automatic headlamp control

When the switch is in position 3, the low beams switch on and off automatically depending on the ambient light (in tunnels, at dusk, in rain or snow, etc.). The adaptive cornering lights also operate. When the low beam is on, an LED next to the symbol lights up. If the permanent low beam function is activated, see

page 106, the low beams switch on automatically in the situations mentioned above.

Sometimes the headlights may switch on in normal light conditions (clear weather, but the sun is low on the horizon).

If the fog lights are switched on in addition to the automatically activated low beams, the low beams do not switch off automatically.◄

The light control system cannot judge the light level as well as you can. The sensors do not respond to, for example, fog or overcast weather. In such situations, switch on the low beams manually, otherwise there is a risk to road safety.◄
