Right-Hand and Left-Hand Traffic

When crossing the border into a country with a different driving side, certain measures must be taken to prevent dazzling oncoming drivers.

If you are not familiar with all requirements for performing such work, have it carried out by a BMW Service.

Since switching the headlights does not dazzle oncoming drivers, this can be done in advance at a BMW Service, where you normally have your vehicle serviced.

To avoid burns, allow the headlights to cool down before carrying out work.◄

1. Switch off the lights and remove the key from the ignition lock.
2. Remove the low beam headlight cover on the engine compartment side by turning it counterclockwise.

3. For left-hand traffic: press the lever fully to the left, see arrow 1.

For right-hand traffic: press the lever fully to the right, see arrow 2.

4. Fit the cover and turn it clockwise until it clicks.
