Physical limits of system operation
PDC cannot fully replace the driver. Only the driver can accurately assess the nature of an obstacle.
The sensors have a blind zone in which they do not detect objects. In addition, ultrasonic measurement reliability has its limits. For example, a trailer drawbar or tow hitch, as well as thin or wedge-shaped objects, may produce distorted results.
With low obstacles, such as a curb edge, the following situation is also possible: the system has signaled an obstacle and even emitted a continuous signal, while the obstacle itself is already gone. The system does not detect high-mounted protruding objects, such as overhanging cornices. Remember that loud sound inside or outside the vehicle may drown out PDC warning signals.◄
To keep the sensors functional, clean them of dirt and ice.
When washing the vehicle with high-pressure washers, make sure the jet does not stay on the PDC sensors.
Maintain a distance of at least 10 cm.◄
