Airbag System Readiness

When you insert the electronic key into the ignition lock or switch to the ACC position, the warning lamp illuminates for a few seconds to indicate that the airbag system and seat belt tensioners are ready for operation.

Airbag System Malfunction

► The warning lamp does not illuminate after the electronic key is inserted into the ignition lock or (with Comfort Access) the ACC position is selected.

► The warning lamp remains illuminated.

If a malfunction occurs in the airbag system, have it checked at a BMW Service Center immediately, because a faulty system may not deploy in an accident.◄
