Touring: panoramic glass sunroof
When closing the sunroof, monitor the process from start to finish: risk of injury
When leaving the vehicle, always take the keys with you and close the doors. This prevents children, for example, from operating the sunroof and protects them from accidental injury.◄
Tilting, Opening, Closing

With the ignition key in position 1 or higher, press the switch or slide it past the detent in the required direction.
The sliding panel slides fully open when the lid is opened;
► Slides back slightly when the cover is tilted up.
With the cover closed or tilted up, the sliding panel can be opened or closed independently of the cover.
For comfort operation via the remote control or the door lock.
Vent Position
Press the switch - the sunroof cover tilts up and the sliding panel moves back slightly.
After switching off the ignition
Sunroof operation remains available:
► in position 1 – indefinitely;
► in position 0 or with the ignition key removed – for 1 minute.
Automatic opening and closing
Press the switch past the detent point.
Pressing the switch again stops the drives.
Opening and Closing the Sunroof Cover Together with the Sliding Panel
Press the switch twice past the detent point.
Pressing the switch again stops the drives.
"Comfort" Position
If the sunroof was fully open, when closing it the cover first stops in the so-called "Comfort" position. To fully open or close the cover, press the switch again.
The "Comfort" position provides minimum wind noise from the airflow.
Anti-trapping function
If, during closing, the roof or sliding panel meets an obstacle after travelling one third of its path, it will stop and move slightly open. The same happens when closing the roof from the tilted-up position.
In any case, make sure there are no obstacles in the path of the sunroof lid, because in rare cases (for example, if a thin object is in the path of the lid) the injury protection function may not operate.
If the switch is pressed past the detent and held in this position, the anti-trapping function is deactivated.◄
After a Power Interruption
After a power interruption, the sunroof may only tilt up. In this case, the system must be initialized. To do this, contact a BMW service center.
Manual Operation
If the electrical system malfunctions, the roof can be operated manually:
1. Tilt the cover up. If necessary, pry it up at the marked points using the screwdriver from the vehicle tool kit.

2. Take the hex key from the vehicle tool kit and insert it into the designated hole. Move the sunroof cover in the required direction by turning the key. The arrow shows the direction of rotation in which the cover closes.
