Parking Brake

The parking brake serves to keep a parked vehicle from rolling away.

It acts on the rear wheels.

Warning Lamp

The indicator lamp is on (an audible signal also sounds when moving off) – the parking brake is applied.

Applying the parking brake

The brake lever engages automatically.

Releasing the parking brake

Pull the lever up slightly, press the button and lower the lever down.

If you have to use the parking brake while driving in exceptional circumstances, do not apply it too forcefully and keep the button on the lever pressed at all times. Applying the parking brake too forcefully may lock the rear wheels and cause the vehicle to skid.

The brake lights do not illuminate when the parking brake is applied.◄

To prevent corrosion and one-sided braking, periodically apply the parking brake lightly before stopping at a traffic light, when traffic conditions permit.◄
