Activating the Windshield Wipers

After release, the lever returns to its original position.

Normal Wiper Speed

Press the switch once. When the vehicle stops, it automatically switches to the intermittent operating mode.

High Wiper Speed

Press the switch twice, or press it past the activation point. When the vehicle stops, it automatically switches back to normal operating speed.

Rain sensor

The windshield wipers operate automatically depending on the intensity of rain. The sensor is located on the windshield, directly in front of the interior rearview mirror.

Turning on the rain sensor

Press the button. The LED in the button lights up.

Adjusting rain sensor sensitivity

Turn the knurled wheel 5.

Turning off the rain sensor

Press the button again. The sensor also switches off when the ignition key is turned to position 0. The LED goes out.

Before driving into a car wash, turn off the rain sensor, otherwise unintended activation of the wipers may damage them.◄

Windshield and Headlight Washer

Spraying washer fluid onto the windshield is accompanied by a brief activation of the wipers.

If the exterior lights are on, the headlights are automatically washed at regular intervals.

To avoid reduced visibility, use the washers only if you are sure the fluid will not freeze on the windshield.

Use windshield washer antifreeze, see section "Washer fluid".

Do not operate the washer system when there is no fluid in the reservoir, to prevent damage to the pump.◄

Washer Nozzles

With the ignition key in position 2, the washer nozzles are heated automatically.

Touring: rear window wiper

1 Intermittent mode. When reverse gear is engaged, the wiper switches to continuous operation.

2 Rear window washing

Do not operate the washer system when there is no fluid in the reservoir, to prevent damage to the pump.◄
