Break-In of a New Vehicle

~1min read

Observe the following precautions during the first several hundred kilometers (miles) of driving to ensure economy, maintain optimum driving performance and extend the service life of the vehicle:

• Avoid sudden starts with the throttle fully open.

• Do not rev the engine to high speed without load.

• Avoid hard braking except in emergency situations. Observing this requirement is necessary for proper brake break-in.

• To prevent engine damage and save fuel, avoid sudden starts, acceleration and prolonged high-speed driving.

• Avoid accelerating with the throttle fully open in low gear.

• Do not tow other vehicles.
