• Do not park the vehicle over flammable materials. In this case, the high temperature of the exhaust system may cause a fire.

• When applying the parking brake, do not press the release button. On downhill or uphill slopes, apply the parking brake as firmly as possible.

To reduce the force needed to apply the parking brake, depress the brake pedal at the same time.

• Stop the engine and switch off the ignition. Rock the steering wheel until you feel the lock engage.

• If the vehicle is on level ground or an uphill grade, before switching off the ignition, engage first gear or move the selector lever to P. When parked on an uphill grade, turn the front wheels away from the curb.

When parked on a downhill slope, before switching off the ignition, engage reverse gear or move the selector lever to P. Turn the front wheels toward the curb.

• Lock the vehicle and arm the anti-theft alarm.
