Without pressing the release button, apply the parking brake firmly. When parked on a downhill or uphill grade, apply the parking brake with maximum force.

To release the parking brake, lift the lever slightly, press the release button, and lower the lever fully.

To reduce the force required to apply the parking brake, press the brake pedal while applying the parking brake.
