Important Information on the Parking Assist Systems

~1min read

Under certain conditions, object detection may be affected by surfaces or clothing with different sound reflection properties, as well as by external noise sources.

The sensitivity of a covered sensor (for example, by ice or snow) may be reduced.

The performance of the parking assist system may deteriorate if the sensor mounting height is changed.

This applies especially to tall vehicles (for example, SUVs, minivans and vans). Detection of obstacles in the upper part of the vehicle is not guaranteed.

In addition, the system may not detect objects of very small cross-section or made of soft materials.

Parking assist systems cannot effectively prevent collisions with objects that appear unexpectedly in the path of the vehicle.

The sensors may react to external acoustic and mechanical interference, which may result in signals indicating the approach of non-existent objects.
