Gear shift indicator
System designed to reduce fuel consumption by recommending an upshift on vehicles fitted with a manual gearbox.
OperationThe system only operates when driving economically.
Depending on the driving situation and your vehicle's equipment, the system may recommend skipping one or more gears.
You may follow this indication without going through the intermediate gears.
Gear recommendations are not mandatory. Road layout, traffic density and safety remain decisive factors in choosing the optimum gear. The driver therefore remains responsible for deciding whether or not to follow the system's indications.
This function cannot be deactivated.
Example:
- You are in third gear.

- You press the accelerator pedal moderately.

- If appropriate, the system may suggest engaging a higher gear.

The information appears in the instrument panel display as an arrow with the recommended gear.
When driving that calls for particularly high engine performance (for example, pressing the accelerator pedal firmly to overtake...), the system will not recommend a gear change.
Under no circumstances does the system suggest:
- to engage first gear,
- to engage reverse gear,
- to downshift.
