Driving through a flooded road
In this manual: Driving
~1min read
It is recommended not to drive through a flooded road, as this may cause serious damage to the engine, the gearbox and the vehicle's electrical systems.
If you absolutely have to drive through a flooded road:

- check that the water depth does not exceed 15 cm, taking into account waves that may be created by other road users,
- switch off the Stop & Start function,
- drive as slowly as possible without stopping the engine. Never exceed a speed of 10 km/h,
- do not stop and do not switch off the engine.
After leaving the flooded road, as soon as safety conditions allow, apply the brakes several times lightly to dry the brake discs and pads.
If in doubt about the condition of the vehicle, contact a CITROËN dealer or a specialist workshop.
