Child safety

General notes on child seats

~1min read

The safety of child passengers has been a particular concern of CITROËN since the initial design stage of the vehicle; however, it depends to a large extent on the vehicle users themselves.

For this reason, the following recommendations must be strictly observed:

  • in accordance with European legislation, all children under 12 years of age or under 150 cm in height must be carried in approved child restraints suited to their weight, on seats equipped with seat belts or ISOFIX* anchorages,
  • statistically, the safest places in the vehicle for carrying children are the rear seats,
  • A child weighing less than 9 kg must always be carried facing the rear of the vehicle, both in the front and in the rear seat.
CITROËN recommends carrying children on the rear seats of the vehicle:
  • "Rear-facing" up to 3 years of age,
  • "Forward-facing" from over 3 years of age.

* Rules for transporting children are set out in separate regulations in each country. Check the regulations in force in your country.
