  • Apply the parking brake.
  • Select position P or N.
  • Start the engine.

Otherwise, an audible signal will sound, accompanied by a warning message.

  • With the engine running, press the brake pedal.
  • Release the parking brake.
  • Select position R, D or M.
  • Gradually release the brake pedal.

The vehicle starts to move.

If position N is selected by accident while driving, wait until the engine returns to idle, then select position D to accelerate. If the temperature is below -23°C, leave the engine idling for four minutes to ensure correct operation and the durability of the engine and gearbox. If the engine is idling and the brakes are released, the vehicle moves off as soon as position R, D or M is selected, even without pressing the accelerator pedal. Do not leave children unattended inside the vehicle while the engine is running. When carrying out maintenance with the engine running, apply the parking brake and select position P.
