Blind Spot Modes

Blind Spot Warning Lights Only

Blind Spot has three selectable operating modes that are available in the Uconnect system.

When operating in the Blind Spot Alert mode, the BSM system provides a visual alert in the corresponding side view mirror based on the detected object. However, when the system is operating in the Rear Cross Path mode, the system will respond with both visual and audible alerts when an object is detected. Whenever an audible alert is requested, radio volume is reduced so the alert can be better heard.

Blind Spot Warning Lights / Chime

When operating in the Blind Spot Warning Lights/Chime mode, the BSM system provides a visual alert in the corresponding side view mirror based on the detected object. If the turn signal is then activated and this corresponds to an alert present on that side of the vehicle, an audible chime will also sound. Whenever the turn signal and detected object are present on the same side at the same time, both visual and audible alerts will be issued. In addition to the audible alert, radio volume (if on) will be reduced so the alert can be better heard.

When the system is in RCP mode, the system should respond with a visual and audible alert when a detected object is present. Whenever an audible alert is requested, radio volume is reduced so the alert can be better heard.

Blind Spot Alert Off

When the BSM system is turned off, there will be no visual or audible alerts from either the BSM system or RCP.

NOTE:

The BSM system will retain the current operating mode when the vehicle is turned off. Each time the vehicle is started, the previously stored mode will be recalled and used.
