Launch Control

~1min read
Dodge Charger. Launch Control

This vehicle is equipped with Launch Control, which allows the driver to achieve rapid and consistent acceleration in a straight line. Launch Control is a form of traction control that manages wheel slip when the vehicle starts from a standstill. This function is intended for use during closed-course racing where consistent quarter-mile and 0 to 60 mph times are desired. The system is not designed to compensate for lack of driver experience or familiarity with the race track. Use of this function in low-traction conditions (cold, wet, gravel, etc.) may cause excessive wheel slip beyond the control of this system, resulting in launch interruption.

NOTE:

  • Launch Control must not be used on public roads. Always check track conditions and surroundings.
  • Launch Control is not available during the first 500 miles (805 km) of vehicle life.
  • Launch Control should only be used when the engine and transmission are at operating temperature.
  • Launch Control is intended for use only on dry, paved roads. Use on slippery or loose surfaces may cause damage to vehicle components and is not recommended.
  • Launch Control is not available in ESC Full Off mode.
