The vehicle is equipped with a capless fuel filler system. If refueling is required, when using an approved fuel container, insert the fuel funnel into the filler neck opening. Be careful to open both flaps with the funnel to avoid spills.

Emergency Filling of Fuel Containers

Most fuel containers do not have flip-up flaps. A funnel is provided to allow emergency filling from a fuel container.

Refer to the steps below for filling:

  1. Remove the funnel from the spare tire storage area.
  2. Insert the funnel into the same filler neck opening used by the fuel nozzle.
  3. Make sure the funnel is fully inserted to hold the flaps open.
  4. Pour fuel into the funnel opening.
  5. Remove the funnel from the filler neck, clean it, and return it to the spare tire storage area before stowing.
