If your vehicle has a discharged battery, it can be started from an external power source using a set of jumper cables and a battery in another vehicle, or with a portable booster battery pack. Jump starting can be dangerous if performed incorrectly, so follow the procedure in this section carefully.

When using a portable booster battery pack, follow the manufacturer's operating instructions and precautions.
