To wash the vehicle correctly, proceed as follows:
- If the vehicle is washed in an automatic car wash, remove the aerial from the roof to avoid damaging it;
- If steam cleaners or high-pressure washers are used to wash the vehicle, keep a distance of at least 40 cm from the bodywork to avoid damage or alteration. Note that water left standing over a long period can damage the vehicle;
- wet the bodywork with a low-pressure water jet;
- wipe the bodywork with a sponge and a mild cleaning solution, rinsing the sponge frequently;
- rinse thoroughly with water and dry with an air jet or a chamois leather.
When drying, pay particular attention to the less visible areas (e.g.
door recesses, bonnet, headlight surrounds, etc.) where water can easily collect. It is advisable not to take the vehicle into an enclosed area straight away, but to leave it outdoors so that the water can evaporate.
Do not wash the vehicle after it has been parked in the sun or with the engine bonnet hot: this may affect the gloss of the paintwork.
External plastic parts must be cleaned using the same procedure as for normal vehicle washing.
Avoid parking the vehicle under trees as far as possible; tree resin gives the paintwork a dull appearance and increases the likelihood of corrosion starting.
WARNING Bird droppings must be washed off immediately and thoroughly, as their acidity is particularly aggressive.
WARNING 69) To keep the paintwork looking its best, do not use abrasive and/or polishing products when cleaning the vehicle. WARNING 6) Detergents pollute water. Wash the vehicle only in areas equipped to collect and treat the liquids used for washing.Test yourself
