Power Sunroof Panel

The roof opening panel consists of the following components:

  • Air Deflector
  • Front Sliding Glass Panel (Sunroof)
  • Front Sliding Glass Motor (Sunroof Motor)
  • Sunroof Assembly Visor (Sun Visor)
  • Sunroof Assembly Shield (Sunshade)
  • Louver (Accordion Shade)
  • Fixed Glass Roof Panel (Panoramic)
  • Roof Opening Panel Frame Assembly
  • Roof Opening Panel Switch

The roof opening panel is an electronically controlled glass panel that can open, close, or tilt (vent position). The roof opening panel control switch and vent switch actuate the roof opening panel motor/module. Actuation of the switches sends a signal to the roof opening panel motor/module. The front sliding glass panel and shade (sun shade) use two integrated motors/modules, which are serviced together as assemblies. The roof opening panel has one-touch open and close functions, which are activated when the switch is pressed to the second detent on the open or close side of the glass panel switch (the sliding glass panel close switch functions as the vent switch when the glass is in the closed position). In addition, the shade (sun shade) switch has a one-touch open function, which is activated when the switch is pressed to the second detent on the open side of the shade switch.

The roof opening panel motor must be initialized when performing roof opening panel repairs, including: any time the roof opening panel motor is removed, the roof opening panel glass (front sliding or fixed glass) has been removed or adjusted, or if the roof opening panel frame assembly is removed. There is also a fixed glass roof opening panel (panoramic). The fixed glass roof opening panel is attached with 6 screws and can be aligned.
