General Procedures - Hood Alignment

Inspection

1. Check the gaps from the hood to the body.

All alignments

1. 1
   Open the hood.

   

2. 2
   Remove the hood latch.
   REFER TO: Hood Latch (501-14 Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems, Removal and Installation).

Hood fore and aft, left and right alignment

1. 1
   Loosen the nuts to allow the hood to move.
   Loosen:
   : 2 turns

   

2. 2
   Carefully close the hood.

   

3. 3
   Adjust the hood as necessary.

   

4. 4
   Carefully open the hood.

   

5. 5
   Tighten the nuts.
   Torque: 97 lb-in (11 N·m)

   

Hood up and down alignment

1. 1
   Adjust the hood bumpers.

   

2. 2
   Carefully close the hood.

   

3. 3
   Adjust the hood as necessary.

   

All alignments

1. 1
   Install the hood latch.
   REFER TO: Hood Latch (501-14 Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems, Removal and Installation).
2. 2
   Check the gaps from the body to the hood.
