DISASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the piston rings and discard them.
    • Remove the piston pin retainers and discard them.
    • Remove the piston pin.
    • Remove the piston from the connecting rod.
    • Inspect the piston.
      Refer to: Piston Inspection (303-00 Engine System - General Information, General Procedures).

ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the piston on the connecting rod.
  2. Lubricate with clean engine oil and install the piston pin.
  3. Install the piston pin retainers.
  4. Lubricate with clean engine oil and install the piston rings.
    1. Upper oil control ring rail gap location.
    1. Oil control ring spacer gap location.
    1. Lower oil control ring rail gap location.
