Supplemental Restraint System
Driver and Passenger Knee Airbags
In this manual: Supplemental Restraint System
~1min read
The driver and passenger knee airbags are located under or within the instrument panel. In a crash, the Restraint Control Module may deploy the driver and passenger knee airbags (either or both) depending on crash severity and occupant conditions. Under certain crash and occupant conditions, the driver and passenger knee airbags may deploy (either or both) while the corresponding front airbag may not deploy. As with the front and side airbags, it is important to sit properly and wear your seat belt to reduce the risk of death or serious injury.
Make sure the knee airbags are functioning properly. Refer to Crash Sensors and Airbag Indicator.
