Refueling - Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV)

   When you stop the vehicle, shift to Park (P) and switch the ignition off.

   Press the button on the left side of the instrument panel to open the fuel fill door. The fuel fill door may open up to 15 seconds before you can insert the fuel pump nozzle.

   Insert the fuel pump nozzle up to the first mark on the nozzle A. Hold it against the fuel tank filler neck cap.

   Hold the fuel pump nozzle in position B during refueling. Holding the nozzle in position A may affect fuel flow and cause the fuel nozzle to shut off before the fuel tank is completely full.

   Engage the fuel pump nozzle in the area shown.

   Slightly lift the fuel pump nozzle, then slowly remove it.

   Fully close the fuel tank filler door.

You must complete the refueling process within 20 minutes. If 20 minutes have passed, you must press the button on the left side of the instrument panel again. The fuel pump nozzle may shut off automatically if you do not press the button on the left side of the instrument panel.

System Warnings

If the fuel filler door does not open, an information message appears in the information display.

If an information message appears, perform the following actions:

   Check the fuel filler door for anything that may interfere with its movement, such as ice or snow.

   Remove any obstructions from the fuel filler door.
3. 3
   Press the button on the driver's door to open the fuel filler door.
4. 4
   If the fuel filler door does not open and the information message remains in the information display, use the fuel filler door manual release lever.

Fuel Filler Door Manual Release Lever

When using the manual release lever, perform the following actions:

   Turn the ignition on.

   Pull the manual release lever.

   Turn the ignition off.
4. 4
   Complete the refueling within 20 minutes.
