To activate Tow/Haul Mode, use the drive mode selector switch on the center console. Refer to Selecting a Drive Mode.
The indicator light illuminates and a message appears in the instrument cluster when the system is active. Select another mode to turn off the system.
Tow/Haul Mode features:
- Shifts the upshifts to higher engine speeds to reduce transmission shift frequency.
- Provides engine braking in all forward gears, which slows the vehicle and helps you control the vehicle when driving downhill.
- Depending on driving conditions and load, the transmission may downshift to slow your vehicle and control vehicle speed when descending a hill without pressing the accelerator pedal. The amount of braking in a lower gear depends on how firmly you press the brake pedal.
Tow/Haul Mode improves transmission performance when towing a trailer or carrying a heavy load. All transmission gear ranges are available when using Tow/Haul Mode.
