Chemicals from car washes and various environmental factors can cause contamination of the windshield and wiper blades. Dirty windshields and wiper blades cause the windshield wipers to malfunction. Keep the windshield and wiper blades clean to maintain wiper effectiveness.

To clean the windshield and wiper blades:

  • clean the windshield with a non-abrasive glass cleaner.
  • If there is tree sap, chemicals, wax or insects, clean the entire windshield with steel wool (grade 0000 at most) using circular motions, then rinse with water.
  • Clean the wiper blades with denatured isopropyl alcohol or a windshield washer fluid concentrate.

Note: do not use razor blades or other sharp objects to remove stickers from the inside of the heated rear window. The vehicle warranty does not cover damage to the heated rear window grid lines.
