WARNINGS
- You are responsible for controlling your vehicle at all times. This system does not relieve you of your responsibility to drive with proper attention and care. Failure to follow these instructions may result in loss of control of your vehicle and serious or fatal injury.
- For optimal performance, the braking system must be broken in. See Break-In (page 218). Failure to follow these instructions could result in loss of control of your vehicle and serious or fatal injury.
- If the system applies the brakes and the engine stops, the hazard warning lights are automatically activated. Failure to follow these instructions could result in a collision or personal injury.
- The system does not detect cyclists, motorcyclists, pedestrians, animals or vehicles traveling in another direction. Failure to follow these instructions could result in loss of control of your vehicle and serious or fatal injury.
- The system does not operate during sudden acceleration or sharp cornering. Failure to follow these instructions could result in a collision or personal injury.
- The system may not operate in cold weather or in severe weather conditions.
The sensor is located behind the interior rearview mirror. It continuously monitors conditions to determine when to intervene.
The system operates at speeds below approximately 40 km/h by applying the brakes when it detects a risk of collision. If the system applies the brakes, a message appears in the information display.
The system can reduce the risk of low-speed collisions with another vehicle. It also helps reduce damage from an impact or may allow you to avoid a collision entirely.
Note: You must press the brake pedal to obtain the full braking force.
