Washing

~2min read

Regular washing helps keep your vehicle looking its best. Small particles of dirt and sand stuck to the surface of the body can scratch the finish, and bird droppings and tree sap can leave permanent stains if they remain on the paint for a long time.

Wash the vehicle in a shaded area, not in direct sunlight.

If the vehicle has been in direct sunlight for a long time, move it into the shade before washing and wait until the body cools to ambient air temperature.

Use only the products recommended in this Owner's Manual for washing the vehicle.

ВНИМАНИЕ
WARNING

Solvents and harsh cleaning agents can damage the paint finish as well as metal or plastic exterior parts.

Thoroughly wet the body with cold water and rinse off loose dirt.

Fill a bucket with cold water. Add a car wash detergent specifically designed for washing vehicles.

Wash the body with the prepared detergent solution using a soft-bristle brush, sponge, or soft cloth. Start washing at the roof and work gradually downward. During washing, frequently rinse the brush or sponge in clean water and rinse the body with clean water.

Carefully inspect the body and check for spots of tar, tree sap, and similar contaminants. Remove the spots using turpentine or a special tar and resin remover suitable for paint finishes. After cleaning, immediately rinse the treated areas with water to remove any solvent residue and prevent damage to the paint finish. Then apply polish to these areas, even if the rest of the body does not need polishing.

After washing and rinsing the body with clean water, dry the body thoroughly with a chamois or soft towel. If the body is not wiped dry, the paint finish will look dull after air drying, and water spots will remain.

While drying the body, carefully inspect the paint finish for chips or scratches, which can later become starting points for corrosion. Repair any defects found and restore the integrity of the paint finish (see page 426).
