Description
Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFLS) AFLS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) is a headlamp aiming control system that takes into account both the steering wheel angle and vehicle speed to aim the headlamps at an angle that provides better visibility at night. Changing conditions make the beam pattern of a moving vehicle look like a kaleidoscope. AFLS Components- Input Part: Provides information from the speed sensor, height sensor, etc., related to the vehicle condition.
- Control Part (AFLS Unit): Controls the output part by analyzing/evaluating the input signal.
- Output Part: Controls the low beam H/Lamp left/right. Provides the optimal beam pattern according to the output control signal of the AFLS unit.

Operation
AFLS Unit (A) Component
- System Initialization in General: When the engine input signal (AFLS ECU/swivel actuator) is received, AFLS operates normally only when the low beam is on. Provides the AFLS tell-tale function ("AFLS" indication on the instrument cluster). In case of a system failure, the "AFLS" indicator on the instrument cluster illuminates.

- Main Function: Swivel Function. Controls the shield drum to change the beam pattern.
- General: Communicates with the AFLS unit via LIN protocol. Reliable interference control. Does not operate outside the rated voltage range.
- Main Function and Rating: Low Beam Left/Right Actuation. Fail-safe function: if a malfunction or system failure is detected, move to a safe position.
