System Display and Warning

The main function of the Driver Attention Warning is to inform the driver of their "Attention Level" and warn the driver to "Consider taking a break."

Attention Level

• The driver can check their driving condition on the cluster.

-- When "Driver Attention Warning" is deselected in the Settings menu, "System Off" is displayed.
-- The function will operate when the vehicle speed is within 0~180 km/h.
-- When the vehicle speed is not within the operating speed, the message "Standby" will be displayed.

  • The driver's attention level is displayed on a scale from 1 to 5. The lower the level, the less attentive the driver is.
  • The level decreases when the driver does not take a break for a certain period of time.

Taking a Break

  • The message "Consider taking a break" will appear on the cluster and an audible warning will sound to recommend that the driver take a break when the driver's attention level is below 1.
  • The Driver Attention Warning will not recommend a break when total driving time is less than 10 minutes or 10 minutes have not passed since the last break was recommended.

WARNING

For safety, change the settings after parking the vehicle in a safe location.

CAUTION

  • The Driver Attention Warning may recommend a break depending on the driver's driving style or habits, even if the driver does not feel tired.
  • The Driver Attention Warning is a supplementary system and cannot determine whether the driver is inattentive.
  • A driver who feels tired should take a break at a safe location, even if no break is recommended by the Driver Attention Warning.

Information

  • For more details on setting features in the infotainment system, refer to "Vehicle Settings" in Chapter 4.
  • The Driver Attention Warning will reset the last break time to 00:00 in the following situations:
    -- Engine off
-- Driver unfastens the seat belt and opens the driver's door
-- Vehicle stopped for more than 10 minutes
  • When the driver resets the Driver Attention Warning, the last break time is set to 00:00 and the driver's attention level is set to High.

When the vehicle ahead moves away from a stop, the Lead Vehicle Departure Alert will inform the driver by displaying the message "Lead Vehicle Departing" on the cluster and an audible warning will sound.

WARNING

  • If a warning message from another system is displayed or a warning sound is generated, the Lead Vehicle Departure Alert message may not be displayed and the audible warning may not be generated.
  • The driver must remain responsible for safe driving and operating the vehicle.

CAUTION

  • The Lead Vehicle Departure Alert is a supplementary feature and may not alert the driver whenever the vehicle ahead moves away from a stop.
  • Always check the area ahead of the vehicle and road conditions before departing.
