Main Function

The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system is designed to detect and monitor the vehicle ahead, or to help detect a pedestrian or cyclist in the roadway, and to warn the driver of an unavoidable collision with a warning message and audible warning, and, if necessary, apply emergency braking.

Junction Turning Function

The Junction Turning function helps avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle in the adjacent lane when turning left at an intersection with the turn signal on, by applying emergency braking.

CAUTION

Observe the following precautions to maintain optimal performance of the detection sensor:

  • Never disassemble the detection sensor or sensor assembly, or apply any impact to it.
  • If the detection sensors have been replaced or repaired, we recommend that you have your vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • Never install any accessories or stickers on the windshield, or tint the windshield.
  • Take extreme care to keep the front view camera dry.
  • Never place reflective objects (such as white paper or a mirror) on top of the instrument panel. Any light reflection may prevent the system from functioning properly.
  • Do not install a license plate frame or items such as bumper stickers, film, or bumper guards near the front radar cover.
  • Always keep the front radar and radar cover clean, free of dirt and debris. Use only a soft cloth to wash the vehicle. Do not spray pressurized water directly on the sensor or sensor cover.
  • If unnecessary force has been applied to or around the radar, the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system may not operate properly, even though a warning message does not appear on the cluster. We recommend that the vehicle be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • Use only genuine parts to repair or replace a damaged front radar cover. Do not paint the front radar cover.
