System OperationThe HUD system displays various information on the windshield, which minimizes the driver's eye movement to improve safety and convenience. The projection display shows TFT LCD images on two mirrors (flat/concave) and projects them at a distance of 2.2 m from the driver's eye. Information provided by the HUD:
Vehicle Speed
Integrated (DIS) TBT (Turn by Turn) navigation information, road signs
Warning lamp, speedometer, Smart Cruise Control (SCC), turn-by-turn navigation, LDWS, BSD and LCA
Warning lamp (6 warnings)
Displays Pre-Safe Belt (PSB), high temperature, low fuel level, oil pressure, battery charge, rear side warning lamps.

Windshield (wedge film applied) A windshield designed for HUD must be used. A special windshield must be replaced at a service center, as the windshield shape and the internal WEDGE film affect display quality. Note that applying tint film to a dedicated HUD windshield may reduce display quality.
Windshield tinting may reduce image quality. Wearing polarized sunglasses may cause the image to appear distorted or dark.

Ambient Light Sensor: The bi-directional (horizontal, vertical) measuring sensor is applied and HUD brightness is controlled by the horizontal measurements.
A.
A bi-directional ambient light sensor is applied.
If the ambient light sensor measurement is not recognized, the HUD does not operate. Make sure the sensor is operating before inspecting the HUD.
