Driver's 3-Point Seat Belt with Emergency Locking Retractor

~2min read

To fasten the seat belt:

Pull the seat belt out of the retractor and insert the metal tongue (1) into the buckle (2). A "click" will be heard when the tongue locks into the buckle.

The seat belt automatically adjusts to the correct length after the lap belt portion is manually adjusted to fit snugly over the hips. If you lean forward slowly and gently, the belt will extend and move with you. In the event of a sudden stop or impact, the belt will lock in position. It will also lock if you attempt to lean forward too quickly.

✽ NOTICE

If you cannot smoothly pull out enough seat belt from the retractor, pull the seat belt firmly and release it. After releasing, you will be able to pull the belt smoothly.

Height Adjustment

You can adjust the height of the shoulder belt anchor to one of four different positions for maximum comfort and safety.

The shoulder portion should be adjusted so that it lies across the chest and midway over the shoulder, not across the neck.

To adjust the seat belt anchor height, lower or raise the height adjuster to the appropriate position.

To raise the height adjuster, pull it up (1). To lower it, press the height adjustment button (2) and push it down (3).

Release the button to lock the anchor in position. Try to move the height adjuster to make sure it is locked in position.

WARNING

Improperly worn seat belts may increase the risk of serious injury in an accident. Observe the following precautions when adjusting the seat belt:

  • Position the lap portion of the seat belt as low as possible on the hips, not on the waist, so that it fits snugly.
  • Place one hand under the shoulder belt and the other hand over the belt, as shown in the illustration.
  • Always position the shoulder belt anchor in the locked position at the appropriate height.
  • Never position the OLMB033025 shoulder belt across the neck or face.

When using the rear center seat belt, the buckle marked "CENTER" must be used.
