Inspection

[Resistance Measurement]

  1. Disconnect the cruise control switch connector from the control switch.
  2. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the control switch when each function switch is in the ON position (switch pressed).
    Function Switch Terminal Resistance (k?)
    SET - 5 - 6 0,31 ~ 0,35
    VOICE + 5 - 6 0,52 ~ 0,58
    CCS 5 - 6 2,42 ~ 2,67
    CANCEL 5 - 6 0,17 ~ 0,19
    CRUISE 5 - 6 0,84 ~ 0,92
  3. If not within specification, replace the switch.

[Voltage Measurement]

  1. Connect the cruise control switch connector to the control switch.
  2. Measure the voltage between the connector terminals on the harness side when each function switch is in the ON position (switch pressed).
    Function Switch Terminal Voltage (V)
    SET - 5 - 6 1,04 ~ 1,44
    VOICE + 5 - 6 1,55 ~ 1,99
    CCS 5 - 6 3,35 ~ 3,83
    CANCEL 5 - 6 0,61 ~ 0,91
    CRUISE 5 - 6 2,24 ~ 2,44
  3. If it does not meet the specification, check the resistance of the control switch. If the measured resistance does not meet the specification, replace the switch and measure the voltage again.
  4. If the resistance is normal but the measured voltage is not within specification, inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the switch and the engine control module.

Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the airbag module from the steering wheel. (Refer to Restraint System - Driver Airbag Module (DAB) and Clock Spring)
  3. Remove the cover (A) after loosening the screw.
  4. Disconnect the cruise control switch connector.
  5. Remove the cruise control switch mounting screws (A).
  6. Remove the cruise control switch (A).

Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
