Steering Wheel Remote Control (SWRC) Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

The steering wheel remote control (SWRC) consists of four switches, and the right upper switch is equipped with a Body CAN communication module. The left lower remote control is either a conventional or a tactile type. The right switch collects signals from the left switch. These CAN signals are delivered through the SRC (clock spring) to the BCM via Body CAN. The BCM delivers them via M CAN to the instrument panel and to the AVN system, so that they can be used to operate the instrument panel and the AVN system. The tactile steering warning system must deliver a warning message to the driver by vibration of the steering wheel. It consists of a tactile unit (A) and a vibration generator motor (B) installed in the steering system, as shown in the following photo.
