Where are the air bags?
Driver and Passenger Front Airbags
Your vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and seat belts for both the driver and front passenger seating positions.
The SRS consists of airbags located in the center of the steering wheel and on the passenger side of the instrument panel above the glove box.
The airbags are identified by the embossed words "AIR BAG" on the airbag cover.

The purpose of the SRS is to provide the driver and front passengers with additional protection beyond that offered by the seat belt system alone. The SRS uses sensors to collect information about the driver's seat position, driver and front passenger seat belt use, and crash severity.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from front airbag deployment, observe the following precautions:
- Always wear your seat belt to help keep occupants properly positioned.
- Move your seat as far back from the front airbags as possible while still maintaining control of the vehicle.
- Never lean against the door or center console.
- Do not allow the front passenger to place their feet or legs on the instrument panel.
- Objects must not be placed over or near the airbag modules on the steering wheel, instrument panel, and front passenger panel above the glove box. Such objects could cause injury if the vehicle is involved in a crash severe enough to cause the airbags to deploy.
