- Used to start the engine.

- Used to lock and unlock the doors (or the tailgate).

WARNING - Ignition key Leaving children unattended in a vehicle with the ignition key is dangerous, even if the key is not inserted in the switch. Children tend to imitate adults and may insert the key into the ignition. The key may allow children to operate the power windows or other controls, or even move the vehicle, resulting in serious injury or death. Never leave the keys in the vehicle with children unattended. WARNING Use only genuine HYUNDAI components for the vehicle ignition key. If another key is used, the ignition switch may not return to ON after START. If this happens, the starter continues to operate, damaging the starter motor and possibly causing a fire due to excessive current in the cables.
