Do not start a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission by pushing it, as this may damage the emission control system.

Vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission cannot be started by pushing. Follow the instructions in this section for jump starting with jumper cables.

WARNING

Never tow a vehicle to start it, as the sudden forward movement when the engine starts may cause a collision with the towing vehicle.
