Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine under cover. (Refer to Engine and Transaxle - "Engine Under Cover".)
  3. Drain the coolant. (Refer to Cooling System - "Cooling".)
  4. Remove the drive belt. (Refer to Valve Timing System - "Drive Belt")
  5. Remove the water pump pulley (A).

    Tightening torque: 9.8–11.8 N·m

  6. Remove the water pump (A) with the O-ring.

    Tightening torque: 9.8 ~ 11.8 N·m

  7. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
  8. Fill the radiator with coolant. (Refer to Cooling System - "Cooling".)
  9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
