Practical Features of Your Vehicle

Outside Mirror

~2min read

Be sure to adjust the mirror angles before driving.

Your vehicle is equipped with a right and a left outside rearview mirror.

The mirrors can be adjusted using the remote control switch.

You can fold the mirrors to avoid possible damage when going through an automatic car wash or driving on a narrow street.

The right outside rearview mirror is convex. In some countries, the same applies to the left outside rearview mirror.

Objects seen in the rearview mirror are closer than they appear.

When changing lanes, use the inside mirror or turn your head and look directly to determine the actual distance to vehicles following you.

WARNING

Do not adjust or fold the outside mirrors while you are driving. You may lose control of the vehicle and cause a fatal accident resulting in serious injury or major damage.

NOTICE

  • Do not scrape the rearview mirror to remove gel, as you may damage the glass.
  • If the mirror is blocked by frost, do not apply force. Use an approved de-icing spray (not radiator antifreeze spray), or a sponge or soft cloth with very warm water, or move the vehicle to a warmer place and let the ice melt.

Manual

To adjust the outside mirror, use the control lever.

Electric type.

Mirror adjustment:

Move the lever (1) to the L (left) or R (right) position to select the mirror you want to adjust.

Use the mirror adjustment switch to move the selected mirror up, down, left, or right.

After adjustment, move the lever (1) to the center position to prevent unintended misalignment.

NOTICE

  • The mirrors stop moving when they reach the limit of travel, but the motor continues to run as long as you press the switch. Do not hold the switch longer than necessary, as you may damage the motor.
  • Do not try to adjust the outside mirrors manually, as you may damage the motor.
